Whose Dream Are You Living? | Astrology Ride of the Day
Notorious B.I.G. had a dream, Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream, and the rest of us were sold the American Dream: the marriage, the house, the two cars, the white picket fence. When your reality didn’t match the picture, you learned to question yourself instead of the picture. So what if you’re not frustrated because you’re failing at your dream, but because you’re trying to fulfill one that was never yours? This episode asks you to separate wanting something because it matters to you from wanting it because of what it proves to other people. Be like water and change direction without calling it failure, reclaim your fire and direct it instead of letting it burn the forest down, and decide what you value instead of what someone else said holds value. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysWe were sold a picture of success (marriage, house, cars, kids, pet, picket fence) by the shows we watched. When your life didn’t match, you learned to question yourself instead of the picture. You may not be frustrated because you’re failing at your dream. You may be frustrated because you’re trying to advance in someone else’s dream.Letting go of a dream you’ve invested years in can feel like admitting defeat, but changing direction can be the first honest decision you’ve made in a long time. There’s a difference between wanting something because it matters to you and wanting it because of what it proves to other people. If you’ve always measured your worth by someone else’s standards, how would you know the difference?Bruce Lee’s “be like water” applies to life: adapt, change form, and find a way around obstacles without insisting every path look the same.Reclaiming your fire means directing it, not letting every emotion run your life. Fire can warm a home or burn it down, and energy without direction can burn you out trying to prove something to people who were never going to determine your worth.Confusing having more with becoming more leads people to keep up with the Joneses, make financial decisions to preserve a lifestyle they can’t afford, and neglect their spiritual lives. You don’t have to reject material success to reject someone else’s definition of it. Money, a home, security, and a business can all serve the life you’re building instead of dictating who you’re allowed to be.Ask who told you it wasn’t okay to go after your own dreams, who convinced you your life had to follow a script, and who taught you to measure yourself against someone else’s timeline. Maybe you’re not behind, and your path was never supposed to look like theirs. The closing charge is to dare to dream bigger, question what you were taught to want, let go of old expectations, build a life that reflects your values, and dare to be you.Links referenced in this episode:iamastrologyreadings.comCompanies mentioned in this episode:IamastrologyreadingsPayPalVenmoCash AppSupport the mythic classroom: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/supportBook a Reading: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/book-reading#astrologyrideoftheday
Under the Beams of the Sun: Why Planets Get Hidden | Astrology Ride of the Day
What does it mean for a planet to be under the beams of the Sun? The Sun’s light outshines the light of the other planets, so the planet’s energy is hidden and suppressed. In one reading, Venus under the beams showed up as a secret love affair, and because Venus sat in the 12th house, he might get away with it. Mercury under the beams can mean you can lie and get away with it. But it isn’t always bad. A Venus under the beams in her exaltation in Pisces is like walking through the desert at high noon with no shade and no water, except she came prepared, with some water, some shade, and maybe a chariot with four guys carrying her. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysA planet under the beams of the Sun has its light outshined by the Sun, so its energy is hidden or suppressed.Venus under the beams can show up as a hidden love, such as a secret affair, and the 12th house adds to the secrecy, so he might get away with it.Mercury under the beams makes the mind hidden too, so you can lie and get away with it.Under the beams isn’t always bad. Command Your Four Elements: Do You Stand for Something? | Astrology Ride of the Day
Not everyone wants to be a writer like Tupac, but everyone should have ambitions. To fulfill your purpose, you need command of your four elements: earth (material goods), air (ambitions), water (emotions), and fire (growth and energy). Do you stand for something, or fall for anything? Being passive or yielding to others to avoid confrontation may be what’s kept you from your goals, and the root can go all the way back to your primary caregiver, usually the mother. Make the correction or stop complaining, because that hard lesson may have been a rite of passage. Build the inner strength to ward off everyday negativity and you get a coat of Teflon, so negative people, places, and situations can’t knock you off balance. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysEveryone should have ambitions, and fulfilling your purpose means gaining command of your four elements: earth, air, water, and fire.Ask yourself whether you stand for something or fall for anything. Pluto Stations Direct: The Audit Closes, the Warrior Builds | Astrology Ride of the Day
Pluto stations direct at 3° Aquarius, and the audit that began in July’s 4° Convergence reaches its turning point. The question is no longer what had to die, but what is strong enough to be built. Pluto turns forward in the Five of Swords, the hollow win, and asks whether the fight you’re winning is worth it. While he was retrograde, nearly the whole royal court (Venus, Jupiter, the Sun, Mercury, the Moon, and finally Mars) had to stand across from him in Leo. Now Mars trines Saturn, Pluto’s landlord, and the hammer finds its anvil: temper becomes tenacity. Pluto returns to the 4° foundation degree on December 19th, so whatever you build is what he’ll stand on. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysPluto stations direct at 3° Aquarius, in Saturn’s sign, Mercury’s bounds, and the Venus decan (the Five of Swords). A station is the moment the underworld holds its breath, and whatever survived the dig starts moving forward. The Five of Swords is the hollow win, where somebody won but lost everybody in the process. Coming off yesterday’s Four of Swords, Pluto asks the knight who picked the sword back up: is this a fight worth winning? While Pluto was retrograde, the court walked through Leo and opposed him one by one: Venus on June 17th, Jupiter on July 20th, the Sun on July 26th, Mercury and the Moon on August 11th, and Mars on October 3rd. Only Saturn, the host, never faced him.The parade marched across July’s 4° Convergence, when Neptune, Pluto, Uranus, and Jupiter all locked onto 4°: Neptune dissolves, Pluto transforms, Uranus shocks, and Jupiter demands more. Four is the foundation number, and Pluto returns to 4° Aquarius on December 19th, so he’ll be standing on whatever you build. The rulership chain closes into a loop: Pluto to Saturn, Saturn to Mars, Mars to the Sun, the Sun to Venus, and Venus back to Mars. Pluto’s forward direction gets delivered through the Mars-Saturn trine.A Mars-Saturn trine is the hammer finding its anvil. Mars has the nerve and Saturn knows what’s worth charging toward, which is the difference between temper and tenacity, with patient starts and lasting finishes. Saturn is in fall, so this is the builder working in the warrior’s camp. The Five of Swords is the wrong use of Mars (winning the argument and leaving everybody behind) and the Mars-Saturn trine is the right one: one clean cut, a decision you can sustain after the anger has passed. Anger can show you where it hurts, but it isn’t a blueprint. The audit was never meant to leave you empty, it was meant to show you what could survive. Don’t confuse being right with being free, and build only what can survive the truth. Venus, the first one through the line, returns on Sunday to square Pluto.Links referenced in this episode:iamastrologyreadings.comCompanies mentioned in this episode:IamastrologyreadingsPayPalVenmoCash AppSupport the mythic classroom: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/supportBook a Reading: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/book-reading#astrologyrideoftheday
When Is a Belief a Delusion? Religion, Culture, and Mainstream Acceptance | Astrology Ride of the Day
Psychology defines a delusion as a fixed false belief that doesn’t change in light of conflicting evidence and doesn’t line up with a person’s cultural or religious beliefs. That last clause is the catch. Believing you’re the second coming of Jesus may be read as a delusion in a predominantly Christian society, while believing Jesus rose from the dead is not, because millions of people share the second belief. The same logic runs through the examples: a prophet taking commands from God versus someone taking commands from an alien, a saint who gives away everything versus someone who does the same for private reasons, and the cup under the bridge versus the offering pan at church. The clip closes with a darker point, that the line between sanity and delusion can be a function of power and consensus, as when psychiatry was used against dissenters in the Soviet Union. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysA clinical delusion is a fixed false belief that isn’t open to change in light of conflicting evidence and isn’t in line with a person’s cultural or religious beliefs.Shared belief acts as a social buffer. A belief held by millions in a mainstream religion isn’t diagnosed as a delusion, while the same belief held privately and uniquely can be.Context decides the label. A person who hears commands from God may be seen as a prophet, but someone who hears commands from an alien may be seen as delusional. The same is true of behavior. Giving away everything for a shared spiritual cause makes you a saint, but doing it for purely personal reasons can look like a breakdown.Mainstream religion supplies the framework (rituals, texts, and a community that validates the belief) that separates an extraordinary belief from an isolating delusion. What counts as “sane” can be a function of power and social consensus, not just clinical criteria. In the former Soviet Union, dissenters were sometimes diagnosed with mental illness and confined to psychiatric hospitals.Someone can hold a belief that seems extraordinary to outsiders without being mentally ill, and some people say plainly that no new evidence would change their faith.Links referenced in this episode:iamastrologyreadings.comCompanies mentioned in this episode:IamastrologyreadingsPayPalVenmoCash AppSupport the mythic classroom: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/supportBook a Reading: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/book-reading#astrologyrideoftheday
Fate and Free Will: Your Reaction Is Where You Choose | Astrology Ride of the Day
If a birth chart can validate the struggles of someone I’ve never met, some things really were fated. We don’t control fated events, but we do control our reaction, and the most important word in that definition is feeling. A friend recently lost his long-term partner after a health battle and asked whether he’d ever be in another relationship. The answer was that it depends on his response: use this as a catalyst to slip into depression, or as a catalyst to get his life together. His chart shows how. He was born an early-degree fixed Scorpio, spent 30 years working with Sagittarius (mutable fire), and his progressed Sun is now in early Capricorn (cardinal earth). Lean on the fire’s optimism and purpose, then use the earth’s goals and practical effort to heal. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysWhen a chart validates struggles in the life of someone you’ve never met, it suggests some events really were fated. We think we control things that are fated, but we don’t.Free will lives in your reaction. A reaction is a feeling and an action in response to an event, and the key word is feeling.A grieving friend asked if he’d love again, and the answer was that it depends on his response. A fated loss can be a catalyst for depression or a catalyst for getting your life together. The chart shows the tools: a fixed Scorpio start, 30 years of mutable fire in Sagittarius (enthusiasm, optimism, humor, purpose, an open mind), and now a progressed Sun in cardinal earth Capricorn (ambition, goals, practical action).Healing takes work, emotionally and physically. Put what you learned in the fire years to use by setting goals, starting with better health.Links referenced in this episode:iamastrologyreadings.comCompanies mentioned in this episode:IamastrologyreadingsPayPalVenmoCash AppSupport the mythic classroom: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/supportBook a Reading: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/book-reading#astrologyrideoftheday
Sun Sextile Jupiter: Baptism by Fire and the Grand Fire Trine | Astrology Ride of the Day
The fallen Sun reaches the Four of Swords at 21° Libra, and Jupiter in Leo, the Sun’s own sign, reaches out by sextile at 21°. It’s the first real word from home after ten days in the Two of Swords (the standoff) and ten in the Three of Swords (the painful truth). Now the Four of Swords is the knight resting so he can rise again. The same day, Mars in Leo trines Saturn in Aries, and the Moon in Sagittarius completes a grand fire trine: Aries gives the spark, Leo the flame, Sagittarius the vision. Man baptizes with water, the Holy Spirit baptizes with fire, and a trine pours past you if you’re sitting still. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysThe Sun is in fall in Libra and has just entered the Four of Swords, Jupiter’s decan. Jupiter in Leo, the Sun’s own sign, sextiles him at 21°, so word comes from home to the king in exile. The Swords arc moves from avoiding to facing to healing. The Two of Swords (the Moon’s decan) is the blindfolded standoff, the Three of Swords (Saturn’s decan) is the truth you can’t avoid, and the Four of Swords (Jupiter’s decan) is rest from strife. The Four of Swords isn’t surrender. The knight rests so he can rise again, and when he does he makes the one clean cut the Two of Swords was too afraid to make.A sextile is an opportunity, not a guarantee. Jupiter brings optimism and a pull toward your people, but his shadow is overconfidence, so review the plan behind the confidence.Mars in Leo trines Saturn in fall in Aries. The gas pedal and the brake learn to work together, which is the difference between rage and resolve: focused, deliberate effort that finishes what it starts. The Moon enters Sagittarius at 10° and completes a grand fire trine with Mars in Leo and Saturn in Aries. Aries gives the spark, Leo the flame, and Sagittarius the vision. Jupiter stands right behind the triangle as Sagittarius’ ruler.Man baptizes with water and the Holy Spirit baptizes with fire: water cleanses what was, and fire consecrates what comes next. Trines don’t push, they pour, so the fire passes you by if you sit still. The closing charge is to let Jupiter show the vision, Mars give the courage, Saturn give the structure, and the Moon give the feeling.Links referenced in this episode:iamastrologyreadings.comCompanies mentioned in this episode:IamastrologyreadingsPayPalVenmoCash AppSupport the mythic classroom: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/supportBook a Reading: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/book-reading#astrologyrideoftheday
Spiritual Ego: The Ego Wears Spiritual Clothing | Astrology Ride of the Day
Ever met somebody who got less teachable the more they learned? Venus is retrograde in Scorpio, asking what your sense of worth is really built on, because if it’s built on being above somebody, you’ll always need somebody below you. The ego doesn’t leave when you get spiritual. It just changes clothes, from “more money” to “more awakened,” with the same need to feel superior underneath. The episode covers a reader who answered “yet” when a mother said the chart didn’t sound like her child, why a chart has to be read in the context of age and development, and why more information isn’t more mastery. Making yourself small isn’t humble, it’s another kind of hiding. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysSpiritual ego is the ego in new clothes. “More money” becomes “more awakened,” and the need to feel superior stays the same.Venus is retrograde in Scorpio, her detriment, and the review question is what your worth is built on. If it’s built on being above someone, you need someone below you forever. When a chart and the person in front of you disagree, ask whether you’re examining the reading or protecting it. If your answer to every miss is “you’ll see,” nothing could ever prove you wrong.A chart has to be read in the context of age and development. Mars in Aries is fighting for the promotion at 36 and first down the slide at 6. The symbolism is the same, but how it shows up changes.Knowing what a placement means is one thing, and knowing how it lives in the person in front of you is the skill. Timing techniques are a fancy roof on a house with no slab if rulerships and dignity aren’t solid.Humility isn’t making yourself small. It’s knowing what you know, admitting what you don’t, and refusing to believe that what you know makes you better than anybody. The applause test: what happens to you when nobody recognizes your wisdom? If your purpose still stands when nobody’s clapping, you’re good. The closing question is whether your spiritual practice is making you wiser or just giving your ego a more sophisticated vocabulary.Links referenced in this episode:iamastrologyreadings.comCompanies mentioned in this episode:IamastrologyreadingsPayPalVenmoCash AppSupport the mythic classroom: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/supportBook a Reading: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/book-reading#astrologyrideoftheday
The Alchemy of Growth: Two Wolves, Emotional Sovereignty, and the Classroom of the Soul | Astrology Ride of the Day
We are spiritual beings having a human experience, and the soul is in a classroom, so when something happens to you the question isn’t “woe is me,” it’s “what am I supposed to learn from this?” That’s the alchemy of growth: turning a painful situation into understanding, and understanding into wisdom you can pour into others. Using Manly P. Hall’s insights, this episode argues that emotional development takes the same practice athletes put in before the game, in a culture built to stimulate emotion and then sell you a pill for it. The two wolves aren’t enemies. They’re complementary parts of a whole person, and growth comes from standing calmly between them, feeding both. Growth takes active engagement, not passive hoping, as the man waiting out the flood for the Lord to provide learned too late. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysWe are souls having a human experience, and life is the classroom. When things happen, get curious, ask what you’re supposed to learn, and turn that understanding into wisdom you can pass on. That’s the alchemy of growth.Emotional development needs the same systematic practice as athletic or professional development. Athletes practice far more than they perform, and most people want to grow until it’s time to do the work.Social media, movies, and TV stimulate emotion, and then a pill is offered for the result. Medicating the symptom is a band-aid, and addressing the emotion underneath may remove the need for it.Hall’s answer is to feed emotions with beauty, meaning, and transcendent values, which leads to emotional sovereignty: working with both shadow and light as sources of wisdom instead of being a victim of reactions or suppressing them. The two wolves are complementary parts of a complete person, not enemies. Growth comes from developing the awareness to hold both with compassion, standing between them so that both sit when you say sit.Part of why people don’t feel whole is that they’re starving one wolf or making the two fight. Seeking someone to “complete you” can be a way of avoiding the integration.Growth takes active engagement, not passive hoping. In the flood story, the man refuses a car, a truck, a boat, and a helicopter, saying “the Lord will provide,” and the Lord’s answer is that he sent all four.Conscious development is a free will choice, and most people won’t take it. The alternative is staying emotionally adolescent in an increasingly complex world, which costs individuals and society far more.Links referenced in this episode:iamastrologyreadings.comCompanies mentioned in this episode:IamastrologyreadingsPayPalVenmoCash AppSupport the mythic classroom: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/supportBook a Reading: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/book-reading#astrologyrideoftheday

The New Moon lands in your 7th house of partners and contracts, beginning a new agreement where fairness means weighing both sides. Venus, the ruler of your 7th, is retrograde in Scorpio in your 8th house of shared money, debt, and intimacy, so the question is what the relationship costs and who carries the greater burden. Brandi St. Cyr — The Wounded Healer | Astrology Ride of the Day
Ask Brandi St. Cyr about her dreams and she keeps it simple: to walk into Walmart without checking price tags, to teach, and to be where she’s meant to be. She’s about to turn 40 without the house and picket fence the system said she’d have by now, and she’s tired of fighting. Then her chart shows where the real work is. Chiron, the wounded healer, sits in Gemini, the sign of communication and siblings. She talks to fill the silence, out of fear of not being heard. Saturn next to her Sun and a Capricorn Moon make her the steady one, the one who never asks for help. Her father never told the kids to be that way. They watched how he lived and copied it. Her family doesn’t say I love you, but they show up. Her closing line: “Somebody gonna hear it and need it.” Know thyself. Balance your energy.Takeaways:Chiron shows where we’re wounded, and once that wound heals, it’s where we teach from.Being the steady one can turn into never asking for help. Temperance: How Patient Should You Be With Immaturity? | Astrology Ride of the Day
A conversation about patience the night before shows up the next morning in the spread as Temperance. Patience is the capacity to tolerate delays and trouble without getting angry, anxious, or annoyed, and you can have patience for someone’s growth while having none for their bad behavior. Temperance is about balancing extreme emotions, especially the repressed ones waiting to come out. So how patient should you be with a hot-headed adult who loves to stir conflict? This too shall pass, and you can let karma get the last laugh. A relationship can’t stay balanced when one force wants peace and the other wants war, and love doesn’t put itself in detrimental situations. Sometimes a big fish needs to leave a small pond. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysPatience is accepting delays and trouble without anger, anxiety, or annoyance. Venus Square Pluto: When Love Meets Transformation | Astrology Ride of the Day
The goddess of love and beauty is in tension with the god of the underworld. Venus square Pluto brings intense emotional experiences into your relationships, and a change is gonna come. Venus represents what you love, value, and attract. Pluto destroys in order to renew, and its shadow is control, manipulation, and vindictiveness. Together they surface what’s been hidden or ignored: jealousy, betrayal, smothering, projection, and the urge to destroy what you love. But Pluto also heals, so out of the painful part can come deep understanding. The Sabian symbol for 28° Libra is about knowledge handed down across generations, and for the tarot people there’s a translation: the Empress, the Four of Swords, the Wheel of Fortune, the Tower, the Four of Pentacles, the Devil, and the Sun. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysVenus is what you love, value, and attract. Pluto is transformation: it creates new things only after destroying the old, and its shadow is controlling, manipulative, vindictive, and destructive behavior.Venus square Pluto is the energy of breakdowns in relationships. What has been hidden or ignored comes to the surface, including jealousy, betrayal, smothering, and damaging projections.Ask the hard questions: Are you in this out of boredom? Is this person, job, or situation good for you? Are you seeing it clearly? Do you feel restricted, or are you the one restricting?Don’t be scared. Pluto is also healing and renewing energy, so keep love in your heart and mind during the crisis. The Sabian symbol for 28° Libra is about the effort for knowledge handed down from generation to generation. Learn it, apply it, and commit to being better. The tarot translation: the Empress has been dealing with Four of Swords issues, the Wheel of Fortune turns to bring justice to a Tower moment, and the Devil’s temptations affect the Sun. Brandi St. Cyr — Venus Retrograde on Her Pluto | Astrology Ride of the Day
Venus just stationed retrograde at 8 degrees Scorpio. Brandi St. Cyr’s natal Pluto sits at 8 degrees Scorpio. So her Venus return is landing exactly on the planet of death and regeneration, with the Empress meeting Judgment. Mercury is parked at 8 degrees too and is about to turn retrograde in the same sign, which gives her a Mercury return on top of it. Retrograde means review, rewind and reminisce. She heard that and went straight to the accident from the day before. Then the time lord technique filled in the rest: at 39 she’s in a 4th house profection year, the house of home, family and roots. This year she lost her home, lost her car, and now stands at the edge of a decision about the storefront itself. The universe’s message is plain: if you won’t let it go, it gets taken. Know thyself. Balance your energy.Takeaways:A Venus retrograde on natal Pluto puts what you desire and attract under review, because something has to die so something new can grow.Retrograde season brings the past back for a second look. Ask what the last lesson taught you before the next one arrives. You don’t need a birth time to read the year. A 4th house profection year points straight to home, family and roots. If you won’t release what’s holding you back, the universe will take it. Brandi St. Cyr — The Detective and the Dreamer | Astrology Ride of the Day
Brandi St. Cyr had never looked at her chart. She knew she was a Sagittarius, and that was it. So with no birth time, just “an evening baby,” we set the clock at noon and went looking. Her Moon sits in Capricorn whether she was born at noon or midnight. That’s a Moon in detriment, one that builds its own structure but bucks any structure forced on her. Saturn sits one degree from her Sagittarius Sun, the blocker parked on her essence, which says a lot about the years she spent hiding in a “Southern Baptist meat suit.” Mars and Jupiter in Pisces square that Sagittarius stack: spirituality pushing against orthodox religion. And three planets stack up in Scorpio, the sign of the Death card: Mercury the detective, Venus in detriment and Pluto. Scorpio’s lesson is letting go. Her answer: “I know I should, but man, I like to spiral.” Know thyself. Balance your energy.Takeaways:A Capricorn Moon wants structure, but only the structure it builds for itself. With Saturn right on the Sun, you learn to hide yourself first and reveal yourself later.Sagittarius versus Pisces is the tension between organized religion and personal spirituality, and Mars in the mix turns it into a fight.Scorpio sees the truth, and Sagittarius’s shadow is rationalizing it away. That’s how you end up a “dueling personality.”Links referenced in this episode:iamastrologyreadings.comCompanies mentioned in this episode:IamastrologyreadingsPayPalVenmoCash AppSupport the mythic classroom: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/supportBook a Reading: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/book-reading#astrologyrideoftheday
New Moon in Libra: The King and the Moon at the Guest’s Table | Astrology Ride of the Day
The New Moon in Libra on October 10th lands at 17°, and the planet that rules it, Venus, is retrograde and in detriment in Scorpio, a weakened guest in Mars’ house. The Sun is in fall in Libra, so the king and the Moon are sitting at the guest’s table, and Venus squares Mars the same day, so the seed and the argument over the seed arrive together. The degree sits in Jupiter’s bounds and Saturn’s face. The Sabian symbol is “Two men placed under arrest,” and the number 17 reduces to 8, protection and justice. About two weeks later the Sun meets Venus in a cazimi at the threshold of Scorpio. This is a signature, not a leap, so read before you sign. The episode closes with questions and intentions you can say out loud. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysA New Moon takes its tone from the ruler of its sign. Libra belongs to Venus, who is retrograde and in detriment in Scorpio, a weakened guest in Mars’ house. The ruler of this beginning isn’t on her best footing. The Sun is in fall in Libra, so the king and the Moon meet at the guest’s table, and Venus answers to Mars, Mars to the Sun, and the Sun to Venus. This beginning happens on borrowed ground.Venus squares Mars the same day, so the ruler of the New Moon takes a hard aspect hours after the lunation. A fresh start, but not a blank slate, because the tension was already written into the terms.17° Libra is in Jupiter’s bounds and Saturn’s face. The Sun and Moon apply to a sextile with Jupiter in Leo at 21°, which is support in the story, while Saturn, retrograde and in fall in Aries, asks whether it can last. Both the helper and the critic are on shaky footing. The Sabian symbol, “Two men placed under arrest,” is about the edges of every agreement. Sometimes they’re named up front and sometimes you discover them when somebody pushes. The question is what you’re willing to stand behind when the rules push back.17 means misfortune, disregard, and oblivion, and 1+7 reduces to 8, protection and justice. The warning and the question arrive together: what was overlooked, and what would it take to set it right?Venus is retrograde, so she gets to read closely whatever you set in motion. About two weeks after this lunation the Sun meets Venus in a cazimi at the threshold of Scorpio, a chance to burn off karma by taking responsibility and choosing not to repeat it.Libra signs the agreement and Scorpio finds out what it costs, so this beginning is a signature rather than a leap: read before you sign and understand what you’re agreeing to.The episode closes with questions (what have you been calling peace that’s really avoidance?) and intentions to say out loud, each paired with one action for the week. Venus Square Mars: The Guest, the Host, and the King | Astrology Ride of the Day
Venus retrograde in Scorpio squares Mars in Leo, exact at 7° on October 10th. Venus is weakened, in detriment, in Mars’ house, while Mars is a general walking through the Sun’s territory. The Sun sits in Libra, Venus’ sign, so the king is at the guest’s table and everybody in the story is somebody’s guest. At 7°, the number of the seeker, Venus is investigating the terms while Mars is already marching, and the question is when you stop digging and act on what you found. The episode also covers sect, applying versus separating, the sextile on November 9th, and how this friction can become something you make instead of something you fight about. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysVenus is what you value and Mars is what you pursue. A square doesn’t smooth the path, it makes you deal with the problem. Attraction doesn’t guarantee agreement, and wanting something doesn’t mean you agree on how to get it.Venus is retrograde and in detriment in Scorpio, Mars’ sign, so she’s a guest in the host’s house. Mars is in Leo, the Sun’s sign, so he answers to the king. The Sun in Libra answers to Venus, which closes the circuit: Mars to the Sun, the Sun to Venus, Venus back to Mars.Mars at 7° Leo is peregrine, standing in Venus’ bounds and Saturn’s face. Saturn, retrograde and in fall in Aries, answers to both Mars and Venus. Nobody in this arrangement is on solid ground, and everyone leans on someone else.Mars in Leo is courage with an audience, where pride makes the fight about who backs down first. Venus in Scorpio is investment, not just intensity: you can stay attached because of what you’ve already put in.The square perfects at 7°, the number of the seeker. Four builds the structure and seven asks why it was written that way. The tension is the seeker who wants more information against the general who wants to move.Three things to check in a real chart: sect (both planets are nocturnal, so they’re better moderated in a night chart and more heated in a day chart), applying versus separating, and the rulers behind the planets. This square perfects once during the retrograde. Venus then goes back into Libra and the sextile lands on the night of November 9th at 23°, three days before she stations direct on November 13th. The square exposes the friction and the sextile offers a chance to do something with it.The tension also works in the making. Venus supplies the vision and Mars the drive, and the gap between what you can imagine and what you can execute can become frustration or fuel.Closing questions: what do I want that I’m afraid to go after, am I defending this because it’s still valuable or because I’ve invested so much, and what have I analyzed long enough that it’s time to act on?Links referenced in this episode:iamastrologyreadings.comCompanies mentioned in this episode:IamastrologyreadingsPayPalVenmoCash AppSupport the mythic classroom: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/supportBook a Reading: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/book-reading#astrologyrideoftheday
Brandi St. Cyr — Inside Clary & Sage | Astrology Ride of the Day
Walk into Clary & Sage and you’re shopping out of history: restored cabinets from the old Lovelace Pharmacy, brought back home to Ocean Springs. Brandi St. Cyr is a chef by trade who once owned a restaurant, so herbs and food as medicine came naturally. Her rule is education over mystery, because in the Deep South most folks only know this path from Hollywood. She walks through what a real house clearing looks like, from Florida water and black salt to railroad spikes driven down next to a graveyard. She explains why a mirror should never face your bed, and why her runes are sassy, with no sugarcoating. Then come the shop stories: a ghost-hunting session that caught voices and thrown objects, and a regular whose trance-like episodes kept delivering exactly what she needed to hear. Know thyself. Balance your energy.Takeaways:Education over mystery keeps curious people safe and keeps them on the path.A house clearing holds more power when you do it yourself first, because it’s your space to claim.Never face a mirror toward your bed or toward another mirror. Brandi St. Cyr — The Gift That Wouldn’t Turn Off | Astrology Ride of the Day
Most kids who see spirits grow out of it. Brandi St. Cyr never did. She grew up in a haunted house with a man in the hallway her brother ran past every night, and the gift runs in the blood: her grandmother has it, and now her 11-year-old nephew does too. At 12 she was channeling truths she had no business speaking, and the grown-ups didn’t like it. Today she’s the safe space for the questions her nephew won’t take to his mother. But it took a wreck to make her listen. She rolled her car five times and hung upside down for 30 minutes, and the message was clear: stop fighting. So she started selling handmade candles out of her trunk, then outgrew a booth in Pascagoula, then got pushed out of town by a pastor next door. Ocean Springs welcomed the weird kid back home. Know thyself. Balance your energy.Takeaways:A gift you can’t control is still a gift. Training is what turns it into a practice.Being the safe space you never had can break a family pattern.Sometimes the universe stops whispering and rolls the car. Brandi St. Cyr — The People, Not the System | Astrology Ride of the Day
Before the shop, before the trunk of the car, there was a West Bank kid asking “but why” in Sunday school. Brandi St. Cyr, owner of Clary & Sage Apothecary in Ocean Springs, was born in Gretna to a military family. She grew up Southern Baptist: Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday, flu or no flu. Every hard question got the same answer: just have faith. So she walked barefoot, picked up rocks and kept asking anyway. She doesn’t have beef with the teachings. Her problem is the people running them. In this opening conversation, we trade East Bank and West Bank, get into how her parents and siblings make room for the black sheep, and hear about the brother who calls in secret asking for protection work. Know thyself. Balance your energy.Takeaways:Asking “why” in a place built on “because” doesn’t make you faithless. It’s how some people find their own path.Separating the people from the system lets you leave an institution without throwing out everything it taught you.Consistency is its own argument. When you’ve always been the same person, family learns to accept it, even if they never agree.Sometimes the ones who don’t share your beliefs still call on them when it counts.Links referenced in this episode:iamastrologyreadings.comCompanies mentioned in this episode:IamastrologyreadingsPayPalVenmoCash AppSupport the mythic classroom: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/supportBook a Reading: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/book-reading#astrologyrideoftheday

♉ Taurus Rising: Venus Retrograde in Scorpio — Who Are You Inside This Agreement? | Astrology Ride of the Day
Venus is your chart ruler, so this retrograde happens to you, not around you. Her two houses form a triangle: your money, their money, and the relationship in between. Listen for the clauses nobody wrote down, like "I help you financially, so I get a say." Venus Retrograde in Scorpio 2026 — Read the Fine Print | Astrology Ride of the Day
Every relationship has a contract, and most of the important clauses are never spoken out loud. Venus retrograde in Scorpio, October 3 through November 13, is a contract-review transit, not just a relationship one. It plays out in two acts: Scorpio exposes the hidden terms from October 3 to 25, then Venus backs into Libra to renegotiate them from October 25 to November 13. Venus starts in detriment in Mars' house, with Mars in Leo as the landlord, and meets the Sun at 0° Scorpio on October 24. That meeting is the last of its kind in Scorpio before the pattern crosses into Libra in 2034. Past Scorpio-to-Libra cycles in 2010 and 2018 ended in an engagement and a divorce. Venus rules every system of value, so this reviews money, partnerships, and self-worth too. The question isn't who you love, it's why you're attached, and whether you still agree to the terms. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysVenus retrograde in Scorpio runs October 3 to November 13, with the shadow ending December 14. It's a contract-review transit: the unspoken clauses in your relationships, money, and agreements become visible. The retrograde has two acts. In Scorpio (Oct 3–25), Venus is in detriment in Mars' house and exposes the hidden terms. In Libra (Oct 25–Nov 13), she's home and renegotiates them. Scorpio reveals, Libra decides.Mars is in Leo from September 27 to November 25, so the chain of command runs Venus to Mars to the Sun. Mars and Venus meet twice: a square on October 10 (expose the terms) and a sextile on November 2 (rewrite them).Venus meets the Sun at 0°45′ Scorpio on October 24, the turning point inside the turning point. She returns as the morning star, light-bringer, and what you do with what you see decides whether it's a fall or a light coming back.Venus starts at 8°29′ Scorpio on October 3 and returns to that exact degree on December 14. The shadow is Venus walking the same ground three times, and December shows what survived the review. This is the last Venus-Sun meeting in Scorpio (7° in 2002, 5° in 2010, 3° in 2018, 0° in 2026) before it crosses into Libra in 2034. Libra says "I choose this" and Scorpio says "I'm now bound to this."Scorpio isn't just intensity, it's investment. The real problem is entanglement: shared debt, inheritance, leverage, and loyalty that was never agreed to. The shadow is calling fear love, avoidance independence, and control trust. The 2010 and 2018 cycles followed the same Scorpio-to-Libra path. One ended in an engagement and the other in a divorce, and both were Libra stories. Check your chart for planets at 0–8° Scorpio or 22–29° Libra. The purpose of the review is accuracy, not separation. Look back to October and November of 2018 and 2010 for unfinished negotiations, and ask the question Venus carries to Libra: now that I know the terms, do I still agree?Links referenced in this episode:iamastrologyreadings.comCompanies mentioned in this episode:IamastrologyreadingsPayPalVenmoCash AppSupport the mythic classroom: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/supportBook a Reading: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/book-reading#astrologyrideoftheday
What Is an Opposition? The 1st-7th House Axis, Explained Through My Own Chart | Astrology Ride of the Day
An opposition connects two planets 180 degrees apart, or seven signs apart if you're using sign-based aspects. It's direct polarity: one truth experienced from two vantage points at once, where the external challenge is showing you something internal. This episode uses the 1st and 7th house axis, the "I am" versus "you are" divide, and walks through a real example: Saturn in the 1st house (a constant sense of "I'm not done yet") opposite Jupiter conjunct Neptune in the 7th (others projecting mastery and wisdom). Michael Jordan's relentless self-critique makes the same point, and the lesson is that you don't have to feel like a master to be perceived as one. It closes on the gap between knowing astrology and understanding your own chart, and how recognizing a pattern in your life makes the keywords land. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysAspects are geometric relationships between planets, and the five major (Ptolemaic) aspects are the conjunction, sextile, square, trine, and opposition. An opposition is 180 degrees, or seven signs apart in sign-based aspects. An opposition is maximum visibility, two planets staring at each other across the chart. Both sides are complementary truths asking to be integrated, and the external challenge is a mirror for something internal. The 1st house is the self, body, and persona, and the 7th is partners, contracts, and how others see you. Any opposition across this axis shows the gap between how you experience yourself and how others experience you.A lived example: Saturn in the 1st house (Gemini) makes you feel like a student who's still climbing, while Jupiter conjunct Neptune in the 7th (Sagittarius) makes other people project wisdom and mastery onto you.Michael Jordan is the illustration: the "I'm not done yet" mindset is what made him great, while everyone else saw the greatest of all time. The opposition matures when you realize you don't have to feel like a master to be perceived as one. This opposition is also a safeguard. Saturn keeps you humble while Jupiter lets others receive wisdom through you, which matters when your work deals with people's trauma, unconscious patterns, and soul-level questions. There's a gap between knowing astrology (keywords and definitions) and understanding your chart (recognition and lived meaning). That gap is normal, and the pattern often only clicks after you've seen it repeat in your own life.Paul's own story: he's self-taught, and he learned that many of the astrologers he studies also built their own frameworks by reading widely and working through charts. He doesn't see himself outside the lineage but continuing it.The closing question: are you blaming others, or accepting your reflection?Companies mentioned in this episode:Deborah SilvermanRobert HandLiz GreenStephen ForrestDemetra GeorgeChris BrennanLinks referenced in this episode:iamastrologyreadings.comCompanies mentioned in this episode:IamastrologyreadingsPayPalVenmoCash AppSupport the mythic classroom: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/supportBook a Reading: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/book-reading#astrologyrideoftheday
Numerology in the Degrees: Why a Number Is More Than a Sign | Astrology Ride of the Day
Why bring numerology meanings into astrology degrees? The question came up because degrees are numbers, and numbers carry archetypal meaning no matter which sign they land in. The idea draws on Pythagorean number mysticism: every degree has a root vibration of its own, and the zodiac sign acts as a modifier, much like a note sounds different depending on the chord. Seen this way, a degree like 10 or 18 carries its own frequency before the sign colors it. It's a step toward treating astrology as a sacred language, where the number itself speaks. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysEvery astrological degree is a number, and numbers carry archetypal meaning, so a degree can hold its own numerological resonance regardless of the sign it sits in.The idea bridges Pythagorean number mysticism with degree symbolism: the number is the root vibration and the sign is the modifier, like a note changing character within a chord. This treats a degree like 10 or 18 as more than a position. It carries its own frequency, which is why numerology keeps showing up in the degree-by-degree readings. The approach restores astrology as a sacred language, where the number itself carries meaning beyond sign placement.Links referenced in this episode:iamastrologyreadings.comCompanies mentioned in this episode:IamastrologyreadingsPayPalVenmoCash AppSupport the mythic classroom: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/supportBook a Reading: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/book-reading#astrologyrideoftheday
Letting Go Isn't Just a Scorpio Thing — Fixed Signs and Release | Astrology Ride of the Day
Letting go isn't just a Scorpio thing. It's a fixed energy thing, and it applies to all the fixed signs. Letting go is the conscious process of releasing attachments to outcomes, people, emotions, beliefs, or identities that no longer serve your growth or well-being. It isn't forgetting, suppressing, or giving up. It's an act of acceptance that creates inner freedom. So why is it so hard? Because letting go threatens your sense of safety, identity, and understanding of the world, and through identity fusion we merge our sense of self with whatever we're holding on to. Releasing a grudge, a role, or a relationship can feel like losing a piece of yourself, and "who am I without this?" becomes terrifying. Know thyself. Here's the blunt truth: no more sugarcoating, no more hiding from yourself. Real transformation starts when you confront the tough truths, and lasting change comes from facing the emotional burdens you've been trying to bury. Unlike physical things, emotional baggage doesn't stay buried. It hides within and shows up as extra weight, aches, and pains. It's time to dig deep, unearth those emotions, and let go of beliefs about yourself and the world that need a serious overhaul. It might hurt, and painful feelings could surface. You have two choices: wallow in the pain, or use it as a stepping stone for healing. Know thyself. Balance your energy.TakeawaysTransformation begins with honesty. No sugarcoating, no hiding. Everyone says they want to find their soulmate, but is your soul ready to mate? A soulmate relationship rests on mutual respect, good communication, and a healthy balance of yin and yang, and that starts with a healthy balance of the masculine and feminine inside you. The road to healing has stops along the way. Don't climb the ladder and pull it up behind you, and don't forget the charity and goodwill that got you back on your feet. Looking in the Mirror Part 4: Life Path Tarot Cards with Rafiki & Mental
In this milestone 10th episode, Paul sits down with co-hosts Rafiki and Mental to match each person's life path number to its corresponding tarot card and examine how it plays out in their real lives. Rafiki's life path 5 connects to the Hierophant, revealing a pattern of nonconformity, confinement, and eventually stepping into a teaching role despite past isolation. Mental's life path 8 connects to Strength, surfacing themes of inner courage, holding back from the spotlight, and the tension between being a "front and center" teacher versus working behind the scenes. Paul's life path 4 connects to the Emperor, tying into leadership, assertiveness, business decisions, and learning to lead with both authority and compassion. All three share the World card tied to Saturn in the 9th house, pointing to a shared search for higher knowledge and a pattern of "knowingly being in denial" about their own growth. The conversation closes with reflections on validation, walking one's own path rather than someone else's "yellow brick road," and the importance of stepping fully into one's energy. Know thyself.
