Who is the God who will Deliver You? Daniel 3:8-18

2026-10-1231:44

Who is the God who will Deliver You? Daniel 3:8-18The church- and the world- need to see the power of people with a settled faith- not reacting in fear, but living out unshakeable confidence in God. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are an example of such unshakeable confidence. They believed God to be good, omnipotent, and sovereign and that knowledge guided their response to conflict and danger. In this message, Pastor Rich unpacks Daniel 3:8-18.

Worship the Golden Image Daniel 3:1-7

2026-10-0530:28

A massive golden idol. A king’s demand to bow down, or else. A life or death decision. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego find themselves in a dangerous situation, indeed. Most of us have not been commanded to bow before an idol, especially not on pain of death, but in this message from Daniel 3:1-7, Pastor Rich points out the intense societal pressure we face in the western world to bow to an ideology so far from the Word of our God. Let’s listen in.

God of gods, Lord of kings Daniel 2:46-49

2026-09-2821:10

In Daniel 2:46-49, we get to peek into a throneroom. We see a king on his face. A pagan king at that. King Nebechadnezzar confesses the greatness of Jehovah. He tells Daniel, “Surely your God is the God of gods and the King of kings.” And He is. The awesomeness of our great God is captivating. May His beauty captivate us today.

The God of Heaven Will Set up a Kingdom. Daniel 2:24-45

2026-09-2135:51

In Daniel 2:24-45, Daniel comes to the king who has demanded the impossible of his wisemen- to interpret his dream, but only after they tell him what the dream was in the first place! When Nebechadnezzar asks if Daniel can tell both the dream and its meaning, Daniel points out that no man could, but that there is a God in heaven who can. Nebechadnezzar sought his answers and his power in the strength of man, but God reveals to him, through Daniel’s interpretation of the dream, that man’s kingdoms are a vain struggle that eventually fall. Only God’s kingdom will stand. Let’s listen and remember that our God is the only one who can bring the peace, justice, and righteousness that our world so desperately longs for.

Mercies from the God of Heaven Daniel 2:14-23

2026-09-1439:06

Oswald Chambers said the clearest evidence that God’s grace is at work in our hearts is when we do not get into panics. From a human perspective, Daniel and his friends had every right to get into a panic. A king demanded the impossible and put a death sentence on failure. Daniel’s response is a portrait of what it looks like to deeply trust in the Most High God. Listen to this message from Daniel 2:14-23.

Tell me the Dream Daniel 2:1-13

2026-09-0738:16

In spite of their captivity in a distant land, Daniel and his friends embraced the role God had for them and were soon recognized for their commitment to excellence. But what would happen when the King demanded the impossible? A demand that, if not met, would mean death for Daniel and his friends? In today’s message from Daniel 2:1-13, Pastor Rich sets up the predicament for us, showing the continual thread woven into the text- that the Most High Rules in the Kingdom of Men. Let’s listen in.

Daniel 1:17-21 Shining Lights

2026-08-3127:11

Dropped into a situation that must've felt dark, Daniel and his friends shone brightly- an outstanding contrast. They didn’t do so by hiding or even protesting. Instead they applied themselves fully to the role God had entrusted to them. We can be better equipped to engage our own culture with truth by observing their faithfulness, that shone all the brighter in the context of captivity and paganism. Thanks for joining us for this msg titled shining lights from Daniel 1:17-21. It was first preached November 16, 2014 at Grace Bible Church in WInton Salem. Find the next message in the series next Monday here at www.delightingrace.com

Daniel 1:8-16 "Stay Focused"

2026-08-2431:50

As captives in Babylon, Daniel and his friends encounter a foreign worldview that clashes with their own. In the face of intense pressure to conform, Daniel purposes in his heart to stand firm in his convictions. Daniel chapter 1 shows us how to hold fast to God with truth and grace. A delight in God such as Daniel’s will stand in noticeable contrast to the world. Let’s listen to this message from Daniel 1:8-16.This message titled Stay Focused was first preached on Nov. 9, 2014 at GBC in Winston Salem. What a portrait of holding faithfully to truth winsomely. Daniel 1:3-7 Encountering Change

2026-08-1735:23

Alexander Graham Bell said, “When one door closes, another opens, but we often look so long and regretfully at the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us.” How do you handle change? God cares how we respond when things don’t go the way we had planned. Daniel chapter 1 introduces us to four young men whose lives took a sudden, dark turn. What will they do, captive in a new land, with culture, laws, and gods that violate all they have ever known? Will they assimilate or maintain a clear contrast? Let’s listen to this message from Daniel 1:3-7.

Daniel 1:1-2 When Evil Seems To Win

2026-08-1139:00

Today we begin a series on the book of Daniel titled “The Most High God Rules in the Kingdom of Man”. The stories in the Old Testament are like puzzle pieces that come together to reveal God’s message, but Pastor Rich calls the book of Daniel “the box top” to that puzzle. For in it, we can see God’s overarching sovereignty to work His will, even through calamity and in spite of man’s rebellion and evil. Yes, when evil seems to win, we can know that God will accomplish His purpose and will eventually set all things right. Let’s listen in.

A New Creation- Galatians 6:11-18

2026-08-0346:37

As Paul closes out his letter to the Galatians, he emphasizes one last time legalism’s incapacity to produce a changed life and the beautiful power of grace. The law cannot define the status of the believer, nor transform his heart, only Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection carries that kind of power. Let’s listen to this last message in our Galatians series. This message titled New Creation from Galatians 6:11-18 was first preached on November 2nd, 2025 at GBC in WS. Sowing and Reaping - Galatians 6:6-10

2026-07-2751:03

What you sow, you reap. This isn’t only an Old Testament principle. Galatians 6:8 reminds us that if we sow to the Spirit- drawing near to God, abiding in Christ, letting His Word dwell in us- we will reap eternal life. But if we sow to the flesh- fostering bitterness, self-pity, pride, entertaining wrong thoughts and attitudes, lingering in bad company, we will reap corruption. How does the sow/reap concept tie in to our freedom in Christ? Let’s listen to this message as Pastor Rich takes us through Galatians 6:6-10.

Galatians 6:1-5 The Law of Christ

2026-07-1349:45

In Christ we are freed from the law. We don’t hold the burden of living up to a set of rules. Instead, we are under the law of Christ, governed by the Holy Spirit, constrained by the love of Jesus. That freedom allows us to love and serve with joyful sacrifice. See, The law of Christ actually raises the bar for the behavior of God’s people, and provides the ability to rise to the character of Christ at the level of the heart and mind. It isn’t in our power, but in His. Pastor Rich unpacks that freedom now in this message from Galatians 6:1-5.

Galatians 5:19-24 The Freedom of the Spirit

2026-06-2947:18

Has there been a crucifixion in your life? Galatians 5:24 tells us that those who belong to Jesus have crucified the sinful flesh. In this message, Pastor Rich shared 7 signs that you might still be sowing to the flesh instead of walking by the Spirit and what it will look like when we have crucified the flesh. Let's listen i

Galatians 5:16-18 Walk by the Spirit. Part 2

2026-06-2257:19

The Bible uses phrases like walk by the Spirit, about in Christ, and draw near to God. If the meaning of these feels vague to you or if you are wondering what such phrases look like lived out, this message is for you. How do I walk by the Spirit? Let's listen to this message from Galatians 5;16-18.

Galatians 5:16-18 Walk by the Spirit. Part 1

2026-06-1554:31

In Christ, we become a new creation, free to follow Jesus. But our sin nature doesn't go away. Why does the Spirit-filled Christian still sin? What does it look like to, not just manage our behavior, but to be transformed to truly look like Christ? Pastor Rich answers these questions from today's passage in Galatians 5:16-18.

Galatians 5:13-15 Free to Love Your Neighbor.

2026-06-0851:23

There are two natural extremes in religion- to indulge the flesh or to restrict with rules and regulations. God calls us, not to follow the flesh or a code, but to follow our Lord Jesus. This is the new way in the Spirit. The new way in the Spirit is to use the freedom in Christ to one another. Let’s listen to this message from Galatians 5:13-15.

Galatians 5:7-12 Obstacles to Freedom

2026-06-0153:40

What beautiful freedom and relationship there is in walking with Jesus! It stands unique from every religion and moralistic code of living. Maybe you are asking what it looks like to walk with Him or why those who follow Him sometimes lose sight of the freedom and joy Jesus offers. In this message, Rich answers these questions for us from Galatians 5:7-12. May God root out obstacles in our thinking that keep us from walking in the truth of the gospel. Let’s listen in.

Galatians 5:5-6 Faith Working Through Love

2026-05-2548:30

Galatians 5:5-6 says 5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. What is this hope we eagerly await? Does performance lose all its value in Christ? And how does faith express itself through love? Let’s listen as Pastor Rich answers these questions in today’s message.

Galatians 5:2-4 The Advantage of Christ

2026-05-1839:06

If your ticket to heaven lies in what you do or don’t do, you aren’t following Christ but moralism. What is moralism and how is it different from Christianity? Pastor Rich answers this question from our passage today in Galatians 5:2-4. Find out how our new life in Christ, in all its beauty and goodness, shines brightly against the sham of moralism. Let’s listen in.This message titled The Advantage of Christ was preached on July 20, 2025 at GBC in Winston Salem. We hope it has been a blessing to you! Galatians 5:1 Stand Firm in Freedom

2026-05-1154:23

Galatians 5:1 tells us that it is for freedom Christ has set us free. Paul continues with a warning, “stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by the yoke of slavery.” We are no longer slaves burdened under obligation to a code, but sons and daughters, walking with our perfect hero, our Father, in a loving apprenticeship to become like Him. What a beautiful picture! Listen with us as Pastor Rich unpacks Galatians 5:1.This message titled Stand Firm in Freedom was first preached on July 13, 2025 at Grace Bible Church in Winston Salem. Galatians 4:21-31 Born According to the Spirit

2026-05-0446:33

God is doing great things in the heart of a Christian faithfully submitted to the Savior. Phil. 2:13 tells us that it is God who works in us, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. As followers of Jesus, our fruit-filled life comes as the upshot of walking with and treasuring God. In Galatians 4:21-31, Paul continues to draw a clear line between religion that simply follows rules and a flourishing life in Christ. Just like the Galatians, our default setting today is to base God’s acceptance and our spiritual status on our performance. How then do we flourish in Christ? Does God not give believers clear instruction to obey and follow? What does it look like to walk with God instead of just following rules? Let’s listen to this message from Galatians 4:21-31

Galatians 4:12-20 A Parent's Anguish

2026-04-2736:19

The Galatian church had slipped back into old patterns- tying itself to moral codes and practices instead of the transformative grace of Jesus. In Galatians 4:12-20, Paul calls to them as a loving parent reaching out to a wayward child. He lovingly and truthfully reprimands them, calling them to the freedom and transformative work of Christ that was once precious to them. Let’s listen in.

Galatians 4:8-20 How Can You Turn Away?

2026-04-2039:10

Galatians 4:8-11 God has called His people out of the pagan system controlled by fear and into the intimate, loving relationship a child has with a good Father. Those in Christ are the objects of God’s loving concern. In Galatians 4:9, Paul asks believers how they could turn back to the rituals and regulations that once held them under, a system that was never able to redeem, transform, or give hope. Our text today is Galatians 4:8-11. Let’s listen in.

Galatians 4:1-7 No Longer A Slave But A Son

2026-04-1347:51

In Galatians 4:1-7, Paul illustrates how Christ’s redeeming work brings us out from under the law. He contrasts the status and role of a child in ancient Roman law to that of an heir coming of age. Christ has made us heirs. Because of the Spirit Jesus places within His people, our hearts love and long to please the Father, eliminating a reliance on a moral code. What a deep love and trust we can have in such communion with God through His Spirit! We now follow the heart of our Father instead of a mere list of rules. Let’s listen in.

Galatians 3:23-29 Children of God in Christ

2026-04-0655:01

In Galatians 3:23-29, Paul portrays the law as our necessary guardian for a time, meant to protect and discipline, to define and expose sin. But Christ came so that we could experience the beautiful adoption into the family of God- what freedom and privilege. The law was meant to lead us to the foot of the cross, and there we find the love and freedom that a father has for his child. What a joy to be transformed by such a relationship with our God!

Galatians 3:15-22 The Promise of Faith

2026-03-3050:52

The law shows us all too clearly the fallen nature of man. We cannot keep even the most basic law that is written on every man’s conscience. We stand condemned and cursed. But God. Thankfully, the hero of the story comes to bear the full condemnation and curse on our behalf- He is Jesus the Christ. Isaiah 53 tells us he would be crushed for our iniquities. We no longer have to be under the law, but can entrust ourselves to our Lord Jesus, living in faith, surrendering to His work of transformation in us. What a beautiful treasure we’ve been given! Listen as Pastor Rich shares from Galatians 3:10-14

Galatians 3:10-14 Living by Faith

2026-03-2347:29

The law shows us all too clearly the fallen nature of man. We cannot keep even the most basic law that is written on every man’s conscience. We stand condemned and cursed. But God. Thankfully, the hero of the story comes to bear the full condemnation and curse on our behalf- He is Jesus the Christ. Isaiah 53 tells us he would be crushed for our iniquities. Galatians 3:7-9 Legacy of Faith

2026-03-1640:45

In Genesis 12, God promised Abraham that through his line, all the nations would be blessed. God was already pointing to the Messiah He would send, not just for the Jews, but for anyone who would believe on Him. In Christ, we are invited into the beautiful family of faith. As he works through Galatians 3:7-9, Pastor Rich shares the identity, security, and purpose we find in Christ. Let’s listen in.

Galatians 3:1-6 Spiritual Reversal

2026-03-0947:38

Imagine a prisoner, released from his sentence and its legal demands, but choosing to live out that free life carrying the heavy chains of former bondage. In today’s passage, Paul confronts the church of Galatia for putting themselves under the bondage of the law, basing their favor with God on their performance instead of the work of Jesus. So what does it look like to live for Christ through His power and not our own? Let’s listen in as Pastor Rich unpacks Galatians 3:1-6.

Galatians 2:20-21 No Longer I But Christ Lives in Me

2026-03-0251:23

It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. That’s Galatians 2:20. Christ living in me- that is the power and the point of the Gospel. Entrusting ourselves to Jesus is not a prayer we pray to be free from hell. No. It is a whole new life, becoming a whole new creature. Pastor Rich works through Galatians 2:20-21 to hash out what it means for the Christian to have God working in him, to give the power to desire and work out His good purpose. Let’s listen in.

Galatians 2:15-19 Justified by Faith

2026-02-2354:26

The perfect Christ became sin so that we might become the righteousness of God. Those who trust in Christ receive His righteousness. Are we then already righteous? Does Christ save us so that we will spend our lives working to be righteous? How do works and faith come together? Pastor Rich delves into these questions, working through Galatians 2:15-19. Let’s listen in.

Galatians 2:11-14 In Step with the Truth of the Gospel

2026-02-1654:50

In Galatians 2:11-14, Paul recounts a confrontation with Peter, who withdrew from eating with Gentiles after certain Jews arrived on the scene. Paul knew this wasn’t just hypocritical, but failed to keep in step with the truth of the gospel. Peter’s actions were damaging to the gospel message! In today’s message, Pastor Rich shows how Peter’s actions communicated a false gospel and how that same false gospel traps many Christians today. Let’s listen in.

Galatians 2:6-10 - The Grace that was Given to Me

2026-02-0950:42

In today’s message from Galatians 2:6-10, Pastor Rich draws out 7 principles of gospel ministry, so that every part of the body of Christ would be equipped to live out Christ’s mission. We are all called to ministry if we are in Christ- all called to steward our gifts and resources for His glory.7 Principles of Gospel MinistryPrinciple one. It is a STEWARDSHIP from God.Principle two. We all have EQUAL STANDING in His grace.Principle three. There is ONE gospel AFFIRMED in COMMUNITY.Principle four. Gospel ministry must be CONTEXTUALIZED.Principle five. You are an INSTRUMENT the REDEEMER'S HANDS.Principle six. Ministrty must be with ACCOUNTABILITY.Principle seven. Gospel ministry is to SERVE not BE SERVED.

Galatians 2:1-5 - Our Freedom that we have in Christ

2026-02-021:00:12

How easy it is to replace the rich, transformative relationship with Jesus with a checklist theology of do’s and don’ts. In Galatians 2, Paul has much to say about the freedom we have in Christ and the dangerous tendency to make the law the avenue to find favor with God. It is not the gospel. It is not what Jesus has bought for us. See, spirituality is not measured quantifiably. While man tends to look at outward, measurable performance, God sees to the heart and whether it has been covered by His Son’s righteousness, transformed by His Spirit’s work. Let’s listen in.

Galatians 1:13-17. Called By Grace

2026-01-1951:15

In Galatians 1:13-17, Paul gives a testimony of the radical change that took place in His life after His encounter with Jesus. Paul went from violently persecuting the Church to spreading the gospel message at his own peril, all because He met the Messiah. Pastor Rich shares the portrait of grace found in Paul’s conversion, with profound reminders for us today. Let’s listen in.Ourto: Thank you for joining us for this message titled Called by Grace, which was first preached on March 9th, 2025. It’s part of our Galatians series, Our Freedom in Christ, airing weekly on Mondays right here at www.delightingrace.com

Galatians: The Revelation of Jesus Christ

2026-01-1242:06

Galatians 1:11-12 The Revelation of Jesus ChristWe can learn much from creation, but without the Creator’s self-disclosure, we would be blind- blind to who we are, blind to who God is. 2 Corinthians 4:6 tells us:God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.God has shown Himself through His Word and through the person of Jesus Christ. In Galatians 1:11-12, Paul argues the trustworthy authority of the gospel of grace. Let’s listen to this message titled The Revelation of Jesus Christ.

Galatians - The Exclusivity of the Gospel

2026-01-0550:24

Isn’t it interesting how much we love systems? We want the five steps to a cleaner home, a more well-behaved child, a better life. We want to know what we have to do. But what happens when we let that love creep into the bedrock of our faith in Christ? It is ever so easy to do. The apostle Paul recognized it in the church in Galatia. In chapter 1 verses 6-10 Paul calls the people out for exchanging the gospel for another gospel- one based in a moral code. Many religions are built on systems of moral code, a list of things to do and not to do. But not Christianity. Christianity is not based in a system, but in a person- the person of Jesus Christ, our beloved Savior. Everything within our Christian walk flows out from that relationship with Him. Let’s listen to this message titled The Exclusivity of the Gospel, first preached at Grace Bible Church in Winston Salem on February 23, 2025.

Galatians - An Introduction

2026-01-0153:05

Welcome to the Delight in Grace Podcast! Today kicks off a study of the New Testament letter, Galatians, titled "Our Freedom in Christ." Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection rocked the Jewish world, bringing many to devote themselves fully to their Messiah. Jesus’ disciples gave themselves to spreading His message to their fellow Jews, but when God revealed to Peter that Jesus was for all mankind, the early church had some questions to work through. How did the New Covenant fit with the Law? Should those who believed in Jesus become Jews? How should Christian Jews interact with Christian Gentiles? While few of us listening are Jews, the root of these questions is pertinent to the Church today. Paul’s letter to the Galatians breaks down and clarifies these issues in light of Christ’s great work, both in saving and sanctifying His people. In this message, Pastor Rich introduces the series to us from Galatians 1:1-5. Thanks for joining us here. Let’s listen in.Welcome to our first podcast in the new series "Galatians."

Ascribe Greatness to God 4

2025-12-1913:00

Deuteronomy 32 describes, not only the story of Israel, but mankind throughout all time: A loving God, seeking to pour out life and love on man, a people who become enamored with God’s gifts over God Himself, the disaster and emptiness man opens himself up to, again and again. Do we want God’s stuff…without Him? Do we allow His good gifts to become idols? Thankfully, God doesn’t leave mankind in the vicious cycle, but provides Christ, whose Spirit can give us a heart of flesh in the place of the heart of stone. May God’s great work through His Word and Christ’s Spirit grow us to love Him above all else. Let’s listen to this message titled, “Ascribe Greatness to our God.”
