Transformed: A Tribute to Lou Reed was released on compact disc and as an audio download by Mint 400 Records on October 14th, 2014. The music promotion company Pirate! notes that Lou Reed is a "gigantic influence on the Mint 400 Records roster." Their cover is one of the recommended songs on Transformed: A Tribute to Lou Reed , and it is classified as independent rock. Texas Tech University's K. T. X. T. features it on their October 15th, 2014 broadcast, where the cohost Ann Kapusta says that the listeners can "enjoy the jam." It was in rotation for several weeks, and played twice on the 27th. M. 88.7, in 2016, during the episode Under the Covers, a showcasing of cover songs by Nico & the Velvet Underground, and Lou Reed, on the program Britt A. M. The host says that this is a "beautiful cover, originally by Lou Reed [...] from his 1972 album, Transformer ," adding "boy that was a gorgeous, mournful ballad, just gorgeous." It is feaured on the radio cast The Overnightscape Underground , during the November 18th, 2022 program of Bumper Chain Cosmic #3, "His Musical Career." "It is refreshing to see groups like the Maravines subscribe to the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality," writes Shannon Moore of The Pop Break , on their cover of "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere." Written by Bob Dylan during his self-imposed exile, she feels it is a "true-to-form rootsy performance, and given the song's solitary overtones, this is a very appropriate treatment." The song received heavy rotation on the University of Miami's W. V. U. M., between the weeks of April 18th to June 20th, 2017. It is also played on George Mason University's W. G. M. U., at Elisabeth, New Jersey's E. P. S. Broadcasting, at Saint Lawrence University's K. S. L. U., and at Pierce College's K. P. C. R., throughout 2021, and 2022. Jim Appio, the writer at CoolDad Music , says that the "All Apologies" by Nirvana "gets the psychedelic treatment from The Maravines." Jim Testa of Jersey Beat considers their cover version among his favorites on the album, in a review where he notes that the roster has found the "psychedelic melodicism and garage-rock classicism buried in Cobain's compositions." Burlington, Vermont's W. R. U. V. played the song on February 25th, 2017. It appears in the November 4th, 2022 podcast of the Overnightscape Underground , during the Bumper Chain Cosmic #1 broadcast, Mabel's Strange Predicament. When asked by Mint 400 Records, to define the significance of In Utero  in regards to their recording of a cover version, Evan Pope writes that "rock music at its foundation started as a working class movement through the blues; highlighting real emotions and vulnerabilities. Clad in flannel, Kurt Cobain's music returned mainstream rock to its' blue collar roots."
