Happy Halloween, 2020! I wrote this because Sophie asked for a dinosaur song.   G          B7                 A Late at night I couldn’t sleep Thought I heard somthin down the street Covered my ears as best I could But it didnt do any good… G F# F Em There was a growl and a bark From out in the dark A crunch and a yelp Someone screamed for help Thunderous footsteps shook my room Thought I’d meet my fate real soon It got real quiet and I realized Through my windows stared a giant eye… It was looking at me Like I was crumpets and tea A bite sized snack Caught in the sack Em            G     A  A    G  Em Em G A It was a dinosaur! Dinosaur! Dinosaur. A              G        Em Knocking at my door. It was a dinosaur! Dinosaur! Dinosaur. And he let out a roar. I ran down stairs and opened my frig You might think I’m crazy, but I’m glad I did. Found some pizza from late last week. Tossed it out the window to that prehistoric freak. He gobbled it down Then he turned around And he walked away Didn’t want to stay. He disappeared without a trace He headed right over to your place And he woke you up and gobbled you down All that was left were your shoes to be found. You should have thrown him some food Cause he's a hungry dude A starving beast Looking for a feast. You’re in a dinosaur! Dinosaur! Dinosaur! Knockin’ on my door. Yeah you’re in a Dinosaur! Dinosaur! Dinosaur! And you let out a roar! (Roar!) The painting is a  section from  Rudolph F. Zallinger ’s “Age of Reptiles” mural at Yale’s Peabody Museum.  That's how dinosaurs looked when I was growing up.   Peace2U, Dan “Dinosaur 6” is a family-created children’s song written, performed, and recorded by Daniel Wilkerson under the name Sumanguru Gyra Jones and His Orchestra. The song began when Wilkerson’s three-year-old daughter, Sophie, asked him to make a dinosaur song for her. Her older sister, Jennah, supplied the opening roar. Wilkerson slowed down the recording of her small voice until it became a surprisingly deep and convincing dinosaur growl. She was not pleased when she heard what had been done to her voice. The recording also includes improvised drumming and a chaotic collection of sound effects, including roaring dinosaurs, a yelping dog, and Wilhelm screams. One of the dinosaur sounds may have originated with Jurassic Park , although its source is no longer certain. Sophie provides the final roar in her regular three-year-old voice, bringing the production back to its original inspiration. The result is less a solo recording than a homemade family composition: requested by one daughter, roared into existence by another, assembled by their father, and populated by hungry dinosaurs.
