A collection of 10" 78rpm acetate discs, many of them single sided. A lot of the information isn't known, so any help is appreciated in narrowing down the dates and identifying the voices heard. "Gracie Fields - Now Is The Hour", c.1949-51 From a show broadcast at Christmas, because as the recording starts Gracie says "...wonderful Christmas". "Two Way Family Favourites", c.1950 Announcements and Dean Martin - I'll Always Love You. "Much Binding In The Marsh", c.Aug/Sept 1950 Clip 1 - song Clip 2 - "Come to the Festival of Britain" & end theme Two clips from series 4 - March-Sept 1950, but nearer the end of the series seems more likely given the Festival Of Britain reference.  I don't know if both clips are from the same show. (I've seen on a list, episode 16 of the Radio Luxembourg series, 11th Feb 51 with the description "Modern business methods / Festival of Britain sites" so it could be from that - but only if the Luxembourg shows were recorded at the BBC because it was a BBC disc.) "Edmundo Ros & His Orchestra", 1951 Song announced as "The Festival of Britain Calypso Part 1", then announcement & end theme. "The Younger Generation Question Time", 17th Jan 1951 Recorded on board the Discovery. Peter Scott, Edward Shackleton & Jim Wilson talking about their most exciting experience. Tom gets his question answered, then scouts & sea scouts Michael Clark, John Wilson, Terry Cox & Peter Davis are asked a question about their ideal adventure by Peter Scott. "Talking about American politics", c.1952 Alan Green, Prof. Baldwin, ... Wiseman. Presumably Prof. Baldwin is Ernest Hubert Francis Baldwin(1909-1969) It sounds like its sometime during the run up to the Presidential election in 1952. Mentions of Truman & Eisenhower but the line "I'm trying to see this problem of what American policy would be like under Eisenhower..." shows that Eisenhpower hasn't been elected yet. "Comedy sketches", c.1953-54 Several short sketches: BBC Light Programme Sports Report (Cricket-John Arlott at the Oblong), Motor racing at Goldstone, Ice Hockey), Radio Newsreel, Death With The Lyons. Listening to the names of the sportsmen mentioned, plus the radio newsreel bit mentioning "Eisenhower at the White House" it's likely this is from 1953/54. This one is a total mystery.  Although not particularly funny by todays standards this style of comedy seems at least a decade ahead of it's time, assuming 1953/54 isn't massively wide of the mark. PROBABLY IDENTIFIED: This is probably "The Cambridge University Footlights Take The Mike", broadcast 25th August 1954, featuring Leslie Bricusse, Frederic Raphael , Brian Marber , David Conyers, Jonathan Miller.  I don't know them but if anyone can recognise any of their voices in the clip then it probably confirms it. If anyone can help with any more precise dates for these recordings or can help identify any of the announcers then please leave a comment.
