Sharing MealsVI. Unified in PrayerLife Group Questions:Life Groups should remember that the book of Acts is a historical transitional book that is more "Descriptive than Prescriptive." The Apostles will later solidify which principles are to be transitional and which are the normal behavior of the Church. So, here are 3 areas of questions that groups may consider:1. How important was it for the early followers of Jesus Christ to sacrifice the normal demands of life to get "together" with other Jesus followers? Can you think of any activities you would be willing to give up or curtail in order to meet more regularly with other believers?2. Is going to a sporting event or even going to a Church event really "Fellowship?" What makes it "Koinonia?" Can bring up the subject of God's greatness and what he is doing too much?3. Praying together was a main feature of the Early Church. Read Acts 12:5. Does this sound like a "Life Group?" Why?

Teach Me Lord
Recording Outline:I. Church Update | StartII. Opening Prayer | 13:11III. Sermon Message | 16:46IV. Closing Prayer | 46:03Sermon Outline:I. (v. 1-7) Opening PrayerII. (v. 8-15) Meditation & ThoughtIII. (v. 16-22) Closing Prayer Sermon Notes: OPENING PRAYER (v. 1-7)• This is an "A-Z" Sermon. This Psalm is an acrostic of the 22 letter, Hebrew alphabet. Each verse begins with a successive letter in the alphabet. • This outline is a good suggestion for how you can pray and do your morning devotion. • What does David pray for? For grace. To learn. For patience. MEDITATION AND THOUGHT (v. 8-15) • FORGIVE THAT KID • If you have confessed your sins, God has forgiven you and forgotten your sins. • David understands that he has not "arrived." • Teach me to live by faith, teach me not to worry, teach me how great you are. • Don't rush. • Attitude of the Heart and the Anticipated Blessings ○ Humility (v. 9) // God will lead and teach you ○ Obedience (v. 10) // Paths of steadfast love and faithfulness ○ Reverence (v. 12,14) // Godly instruction and friendship• If you are obedient to God's Word, it's not possible for you to walk down an unfavorable road. “There shall be mercy in every unsavory morsel and faithfulness in every bitter drop.” - Charles Spurgeon• If you fear the Lord, God will instruct you in His ways. • The word "friendship" can also be translated to "secret counsel."• The secret counsel needs to align with God's Word. CLOSING PRAYER (16-22)• David shares his many problems with the Lord. But he doesn't complain once. • (v. 18) Do we still ask God to forgive us of our sins?• Some Christians want to keep their options for sin open. • (v. 21) These are your life preservers. Integrity and Uprightness. Life Group Questions1. What was your biggest take-away from Psalm 25?2. What has God been teaching you in his classroom this semester? 3. Which attitude of the heart would you like to develop- humility, obedience or reverence? 4. Have you asked God to forgive all your sins?

God is Faithful
Outline: • Shepherd (v. 1) • Rest (v. 2-3) • Path of Righteousness (v. 3-4) • In the Valley (v. 5-6)I. Who is the Shepherd?"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."-John 10:11 (esv)When you trust in the name of Jesus, you become one of his sheep. The job of a shepherd is to care for his sheep, to guide them, and protect them. The person who confidently believes, "The Lord is my shepherd" has everything they need. The only "want" they have is their shepherd. II. You Need Rest. Our greatest strength can also be our greatest weakness. "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath." Matt 2:27 It is not in our flesh to rest the way God has asked us to. If we do not rest, we will collapse physically, mentally, and spiritually. Which day of the week is best for you to rest? Monday-Sunday? Take that day and let the shepherd lay you down in green pastures...Jesus can restore you. Hebrew word for restore means to "return or turn back."III. The Narrow Path. The Lord leads us for his name's sake. These paths will not always be pretty. If anyone knows about walking through the valley of the shadow of death, it's Jesus. The purpose of the valley is to get somewhere! "I'm walking through"○ Question: What moment in your life caused you to grow closest to God? Was it in the valley (low moment) or on the mountaintop (high moment)?IV. No Matter Our CircumstancesDavid may actually still be in the valley. No matter our circumstances, we can control our attitude by focusing on God first. LIFE GROUP QUESTIONS:1) What is your biggest takeaway from Psalm 23?2) What are some practical ways to restore your soul?3) How has God comforted you in the valleys?
God Is My Praise + Protector; The Almighty
Psalm 22 is continued by Pastor Karl Payne. Outline:God Has Been Faithful (v. 4-5)God is Faithful (v. 19-24)God Will Be Faithfull (v. 27-31)Where and who do we seek counsel and encouragement when we feel isolated, mistreated, misunderstood, and rejected? In this passage, David wrestled through his feelings and circumstances by remembering three of God's key characteristics. We can and should hold onto these when we are being challenged to work through feelings, circumstances, adversity, and disappointments. 1) God is holy (v. 3) -- He is perfect and just in everything He does. He never violates His character of holiness. Keep on! 2) God is infinite (v. 19) -- He has strength and resources beyond our own! Keep on! 3) God is faithful (v. 26) -- He always keeps His promises. My hope and trust are in Him and His perfection. Keep on; do not quit!Do not quit.
The Cross
Outline: • The Cry at the Cross (v. 1) • The Cruelty at the Cross (v. 7-8) • The Clothing at the Cross (v. 16-18)We see Jesus clearly in this Psalm. From the cry, cruelty, and clothing, each is fulfilled in the Son of God. The Psalm is all about Jesus! When Jesus died on the cross, He died so ALL could come to Him for salvation, forgiveness, and redemption.
Thank You God
Thank you God! Psalm 20 from last week's message was a prayer request. This week's message form Psalm 21 is praise for an answered prayer. Trusting God
From Pastor Al's sermon:Matthew 11:28-30 is the only place in the Gospel that Jesus shares His heart. You can rest in God's promises because He's already won the battle. Every victory has been given, we just need to walk in it.Romans 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (ESV)

My Song of Victory
Outline:1. Blessed Rock (vs. 1-6)2. Blazing Reaction (vs. 7-15)3. Blameless Reward (vs. 16-24)David calls God my Rock, my fortress, my deliverer, my God, my shield, my salvation and my stronghold. David’s relationship with God goes beyond the surface of religion. Does yours?Being blameless is not the same as being perfect. We are all going to mess up! As soon as we realize our sin, we must quickly repent, ask God for forgiveness and accept the consequences of our sin.
God is Savior + Defender
Outline of Psalm 17:1) Injustice surrounds me. (v. 1)2) I did not invite it. (vs. 2-4)3) My stand is on Your word and Your love. (vs. 5-7)4) Deal with my enemies. (vs. 8-14) 5) Eternity trumps time and I know how the story ends. (v. 15)"Verses 8-12 are a Defense prayer and verses 13-14 are an Offensive prayer.""Vs 15 My future is promised and secure. One day I will see You face to face, clothed in the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Take Refuge In Him
Outline for Psalm 111) The Situation (vs. 1-3)2) The Response (vs. 4-6)3) Encouragement (vs. 7)A few thoughts from this sermon.Instead of running to other people or other things, David runs to the Lord."David declares: In the Lord I take refuge." Where do you find refuge when things get bad. Where do you run?Become a master of the eternal perspective. Heaven and Hell are real. You are declared righteous when you put your faith in Jesus Christ. We are not saved by good works, but to do good works.
