Erev Kol Nidrei - On Repentance
In this moving Erev Yom Kippur sermon, Rabbi Debbie Stiel invites us to imagine the close of Yom Kippur as a moment of release, renewal, and “At-One-Ment.” Drawing on Torah, Talmud, and timeless wisdom, she explores repentance as both a solitary and communal journey—one that transforms our mistakes into the foundation for growth. Through stories of Moses, the High Priest, and our own human frailty, Rabbi Stiel reminds us that grace, forgiveness, and self-reflection open the path toward wholeness and a brighter new year.
Rosh Hashanah Speech by Rabbi Stiel
In this powerful Rosh Hashanah sermon, Rabbi Debbie Stiel reflects on the urgent need to protect and strengthen democracy in America. Drawing on Jewish history, biblical wisdom, and contemporary challenges, she explores why democracy matters not only for our nation but also for the Jewish community’s future. With honesty, hope, and a call to action, Rabbi Stiel reminds us that safeguarding freedom, justice, and civil discourse is a sacred responsibility we all share.
