RAYS POSTCAST: The Tampa Bay Rays GET HAMMERED by the Kansas City Royals
The Rays get blown out by the Royals 12-5. It was a disaster right away for the Rays. Shane McClanahan gave up back to back homers in the 1st that made it 2-0. The Rays would get a run back in the bottom of the 1st on a Junior Caminero RBI single which made it 2-1. But the offense could not cash in on multiple RISP chances to keep the game close. The game remained until the 5th inning when the Royals put on another 4 runs helped by Rays mistakes defensively which made it 6-1. It would only get worse for the Rays in the 8th inning. The Royals would tack on another 5 runs to make it an embarrassing 11-1. Both teams added runs in the last inning but the game was decided well before then. Nothing seems to be going right for the Rays as they will get another opportunity to turn things around tomorrow night vs the Royals. The Rays come up short again, losing to the Royals 2-1. It continues to be the same story for the Rays in losses. The Rays did not record a hit with RISP going 0-7. RAYS POSTCAST: The Tampa Bay Rays COMEBACK for MAJOR win vs the Washington Nationals
The Rays comeback to beat the Nats 4-3. The Rays found themselves trailing early once again. The Nats took the lead in the 3rd to make it 1-0. The Rays tied the game right back up in the bottom of the 3rd with a RBI double to make it 1-1. The Nationals would re take the lead in the 4th on a RBI double to make it 2-1. They would extend their lead in the 6th to make it 3-1. The Rays comeback started in the bottom of the 6th when Ryan Vilade demolished a 436ft homer to make it 3-2. But the even bigger swing would come off the bat of Jonny DeLuca. DeLuca laced a 2 run homer in the bottom of the 7th to give the Rays the lead. The Rays bullpen would shut it down from there to pick up a key series win. The Rays will continue a their 10 game home stand tomorrow against the Royals. RAYS POSTCAST: The Tampa Bay Rays pick up a CRUCIAL win Washington Nationals
The Rays pick up a much needed win, beating the Nationals 5-2. The Rays started this game in a 2-0 hole after solo homers by the Nats in the 2nd and 3rd inning. The Rays took the lead right back in the bottom of the 3rd inning when Jonathan Aranda snuck in a 3 run homer the opposite way to give the Rays a 3-2 lead. The Rays would add on in the 4th on a Taylor Walls RBI single to make it 4-2. The lead stayed at 4-2 until the bottom of the 8th inning. In that inning Jonny DeLuca destroyed a solo homer to make it 5-2. The Rays bullpen shut it down from there for the big win. Griffin Jax started for the Rays and was solid once again. He went 5 IP giving up the 2 runs and striking out 5. The Rays bullpen came up clutch in the last 4 innings to secure the win. The Rays will look to win the series tomorrow afternoon. The Rays get swept by the Dodgers, losing the last game 5-4. The Rays fell behind for the 3rd straight game after the Dodgers scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 4th. The Rays would come back with a 4 run 5th to take a 4-2 lead. In that inning Yandy Diaz and Richie Palacious each hit a RBI single to help give the Rays the lead. From then on the Dodgers began to chip away at the lead. It started with a run in the 5th which made it 4-3. The Rays get blown out by the Angels 8-0. Nothing went right for the Rays tonight. Angels starter Jose Soriano pitched 5 scoreless innings to start for the Angels. The Rays had multiple chances with runners in scoring position tonight to make it a game but they could never cash in. The Angels got the scoring started in the 4th scoring off a Taylor Walls error to make it 1-0. They added another 3 runs in the 6th to really put the game out of reach and making it 4-0. They added 4 more insurance runs in the 7th to put the final nail in the coffin for the Rays. Griffin Jax started tonight and was one of the lone bright spots. He went 5 IP striking out 5 and not allowing any earned runs. The Rays will try to salvage the last game of the series tomorrow afternoon. The Rays drop the series opener to the Angels 4-3. The Angels jumped all over the Rays early. They put up 2 runs in the 1st inning and immediately made the game 2-0. In the 3rd inning the Angels would put 2 more runs up to make the game 4-0. The Rays answered back in the 5th inning. They had all the makings of a big inning with the bases loaded and 0 outs. They would cash in on a Jonathan Aranda 2 RBI single to make it 4-2. The Rays would get a run back in the 9th to make it 4-3 and have the bases loaded with 2 outs to try and tie the game. But Cedric Mullins struck out to end the game. Shane McClahanan started for the Rays and struggled for the first time in a while. He only went 4 IP giving up 8 hits and 4 runs. The Rays complete the sweep of the Red Sox, winning 7-5. The Rays got the scoring started in the 3rd inning. Taylor Walls helped manufacture a run after hitting a sac fly that scored Nick Fortes. The Rays really broke the game open in the 5th inning. It started with a RBI infield single by Yandy Diaz to make it 2-0. Then Austin Slater hit a RBI double to make it 3-0. Ryan Vilade caped off the scoring in the inning with a Sac Fly that made it 4-0. The Rays got an extra run in the 6th with a Yandy Diaz RBI single to make it 5-0. The Red Sox started their comeback in the 8th inning. They put up 4 runs in the inning to make it 5-4. But Cedric Mullins would give the Rays some much needed insurance in the 8th. He destroyed a 2 run homer to give the Rays some more breathing room at 7-4. The Sox got another run back in the 9th, but it was to little to late after that. Drew Rasmussen started for the Rays and was fantastic. He went 7 IP striking out 13 hitters and not allowing any runs. RAYS POSTCAST: The Tampa Bay Rays FEND OFF the Boston Red Sox
The Rays hang on to beat the Red Sox 4-3. The Rays found themselves down 1-0 after the Red Sox scored the first run of the game in the 3rd inning. The Rays would respond with a massive 3 run 4th inning to take the lead. The scoring started for the Rays with a 2 out RBI single by Cedric Mullins. That was followed up by Ben Williamson smoking a double to make it 2-1. Nick Fortes capped off the inning with another RBI double that made it 3-1. The Rays picked up an insurance run in the 6th on a Richie Palacious RBI single to make it 4-1. The Red Sox cut the lead to 4-3 in the 8th. But some clutch pitching by Kevin Kelly and Bryan Baker held the lead for the Rays. Nick Martinez started for the Rays and was awesome for the first 7 innings. In those first 7 innings he allowed just 1 run. He did allow 2 in the 8th but it was still an efficient start. The Rays will look to go for the sweep tomorrow afternoon. The Rays hold on to beat the Red Sox. The Rays got off to a much needed hot start. Yandy Diaz hit the first pitch the Rays sent it 390 ft into the left field seats to give the Rays a 1-0 day. In a bullpen game for the Rays they would shine. It started with 4 great innings from Ian Seymour only allowing 1 run. Then a combination of Casey Legumina, Cam Booser, Kevin Kelly Garrett Cleavinger, and Bryan Baker did not allow any runs and shut the door on the Sox. The Rays pick up a tough 10-9 loss to the Tigers. The Rays got off to a horrid start. Rays starter Griffin Jax gave up 2 runs in the 1st then 4 in the 3rd. In that 3rd inning the Tigers hit Back to Back to Back homers to make it 6-0. The Rays would get 2 back in the 4th inning off a 2 run Junior Caminero homer which made it 6-2. But the Tigers would get those 2 runs back in the 5th and the 6th with a solo homer in each inning which made it 8-2. The Rays would not go away. Ryan Vilade hit a monster 3 run homer in the 6th which made it 8-5. But once again the Tigers had an answer. They added 2 runs in the 8th to make it 10-5. But the Rays once again would not go away. They would add 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th highlighted by a 2 RBI single by Ben Williamson to make it 10-9. But the Comeback would fall short there as the Rays could not get that final run. The Rays knock off the Angels 5-2 to win the series. The Rays for the 3rd straight game got a homer in the first inning. This time it was off the bat of Jonathan Aranda who launched a homer to make it 1-0. The Angels would get that run back in the 2nd to tie the game at 1. But the Rays would add 2 runs in the 3rd inning highlighted by a RBI single by Victor Mesa Jr which made the game 3-1. The score would remain the same until the 7th inning when the Angels hit a solo homer to bring the game to 3-2. But the Rays got some much needed insurance in the bottom of the 7th. Ben Williamson lined a RBI single to make it 4-2. Then Yandy Diaz drew a bases loaded walk to give the Rays all the runs they needed. Shane McClanahan started for the Rays and was great again. The Rays drop the middle game of the series 14-3 to the Angels. It was a disaster from the start for the Rays. Drew Rasmussen, who has been fantastic this season, stumbled out of the gate. He gave up a Grand Slam in the first inning to give the Angels a 4-0 lead. Yandy Diaz hit a lead off homer for the 2nd straight game which made it 4-1. But the Rays stranded the bases loaded in the first to keep the score 4-1. That was one of two times during the game where the Rays left the bases loaded. The Angels would add 2 more runs in the 4th and the 5th to make it 6-1. But the Rays would make it a game again in the bottom of the 5th with a RBI double by Junior Caminero which was part of a 2 run inning that made it 6-3. The Rays would load the bases in the 6th inning but could not come through as the Angels added another run in the 7th to make it 7-3. RAYS POSTCAST: The Tampa Bay Rays get BLOWN OUT by the Baltimore Orioles
The Rays lose their 4th game in a row as they get destroyed by the Orioles 11-2. This game was a disaster from the beginning. Steven Matz started for the Rays and allowed 3 runs before he recored an out. That was apart of a 5 run first inning for the Orioles which made it 5-0. It would not get any better for the Rays. After they could not cash in with bases loaded in the 3rd inning, the Orioles would add more runs. They added 1 in the bottom of the 3rd then another 2 in the 5th to make it 8-0. The Rays added 1 run in the 5th put the Orioles added their last 3 runs in the 6th and 7th to get all their 11 runs. This is the longest losing streak of the Rays season. The Rays lose their 3rd straight game, losing to the Orioles 6-1. The Rays got off to a quick start. Jonathan Aranda lined a RBI single in the 1st inning to give the Rays a 1-0 lead. It was all down hill from their. The Orioles added 3 runs in the 2nd helped by Rays errors. The game remained 3-1 until the 5th when the Orioles belted a 3 run homer that made it 3-1. The Rays offense had multiple chances to get the game close and could not come up with the big hit. This game did mark the debut for pitcher Craig Kimbrel for the Rays. RAYS POSTCAST: The Tampa Bay Rays BLOW IT vs the Baltimore Orioles
The Rays lose a marathon game to the Orioles 9-7. You would not be able to tell by the score but this was a pitchers duel for the first 7 innings of the game. The lone run came in the 6th inning off a Jonathan Aranda homer that made it 1-0. The Orioles added 2 runs in the 7th backed by the Rays sloppy play to make it 2-1. Richie Palacious came up with another big hit in the top of the 8th to tie the game at 2. The game would go into extras with neither team scoring in the 10th inning. Then in the 11th Victor Mesa launched a 2 run homer to take a 4-2 lead. The Rays pitching and defense would give that lead right back in the bottom of the 11 to tie it at 4. Each team would add a run in the 12th which made it 5-5. The Rays would add 2 runs in the 13th to make it 7-5 but the pitching would finally give out. The Orioles would put up 4 runs in the bottom of the inning highlighted by a walk off 2 run homer to win the game. The Rays will look to bounce back tomorrow night. The Rays continue to win, beating the Yankees 4-2. The Rays offense showed no life for the first 7 innings. Yankees starter Garrit Cole pitched 6 scoreless innings in his season debut. But the Bats would come alive in the 8th inning. After Simpson reached on an error and Junior singled the Rays had 1st and 3rd no one out. RAYS POSTCAST: The Tampa Bay Rays FIND A WAY to beat the Baltimore Orioles for ANOTHER sweep
The Rays comeback to beat the Orioles 5-3. It was a pitchers duel for the first 5 IP of this game. Each team only scratching across one run each. The Rays run came off a the first career home run by Hunter Fedducia in the 2nd inning which made it 1-0. The Orioles added their run in the top of the 3rd to tie the game at 1. The game remained tied until the 6th inning. In the 6th the Orioles smacked 2 homers to take a 3-1 lead. The Rays offense looked dead until the 8th inning. With 2 outs Jonathan Aranda lined a 2 RBI single to tie the game. Then Richie Palacious hit the go ahead single right after to make it a 4-3 game. The Rays base running stole another run which made it 5-3. Ian Seymour came in to shut it down as the Rays move to 12-2 against the division so far. The Rays will head to New York to take on the Yankees over the weekend.
